About Me

Hi, I'm Angelina and I'm the founder of The Only Child.

It all began over twenty five years ago when I came across West German pottery for the first time. I started collecting pieces here and there — drawn to the mid-century style, their bold glazes and shapes. I'd bring them home one by one to enjoy around the house. One vase on a shelf became two, then my cupboards slowly filled with mid-century coffee pots and tea sets, decorative plates, glass (and more glass!). Without quite realising it, I was building a collection and on top of that, shaping how I see a space.

The Only Child grew from that instinct. It's a curated collection of vintage and one-off pieces — mainly ceramics and glass. At it's core it's about everyday living - mixing older objects with the new, and using them as they were meant to be or simply enjoying them as decorative pieces. Sustainability underpins it all: reusing, rehoming, and valuing what already exists.

I'm a photographer by trade, and for the past eight years I've worked closely with Hertfordshire-based interior design studio Katia Perez Design. Immersed in the world of interiors and home styling The Only Child began to grow in my mind and became a natural meeting point — where photography, interiors and vintage objects all come together.

Alongside collecting, I also make my own pottery in my spare time. I'm very much an amateur but working with clay has given me an even deeper appreciation for form, texture and the time it takes to make something by hand. It's another layer of the same story — a love of objects, how they're made, and how they live in our homes.
